Whole30 Week 3 Meal Plan (and Trader Joe’s short list of must haves!)

Only 1 day late this time! And ok confession: I literally just went to Trader Joe’s blind. No grocery list. No meal plan. AND I WENT CRAZY. I was just putting compliant things into my cart left and right, but then I holed up in a corner and decided what was what. I got three different kinds of meat (steak, chicken tenders, and sausage) and planned my meals around them. It was actually brilliant! And Trader Joe’s is so much cheaper than Whole Foods. #winwin

I forgot to note that for my tacos, I used two butter lettuce leaves for each taco. Doubling up adds more stability, because a lettuce wrap is super messy, no matter what you do.

I do prep my chia pudding and fruit for lunch on Sundays, and if I’m making chicken salad for the week, I’ll cook the chicken then too. But I really don’t do a TON  of meal prep besides meal planning, grocery shopping, and making my lunches easier to grab in the morning. #wowrunonsentence I feel like I do that on Whole30 or not. Whole30 doesn’t have to be super intimidating if you don’t make it that way! Literally nothing I’m making this week has a recipe attached. I made it all up using TJ ingredients and mah brain. Cook the meat, saute the veggies, heat up anything else. It’s just that simple!

Here is my short list of compliant Trader Joe’s items I picked up:

Trader Joe’s Spicy Italian Chicken Sausage

Trader Joe’s Frozen Fire Roasted Peppers and Onions

Califia Unsweetened Almond Milk

Trader Giotto’s Roasted Garlic Spaghetti Sauce (only compliant sauce I’ve seen! And it’s SO good)

Oregon Hazelnuts

Trader Joe’s Avocado’s Number Guacamole (individual packets, great for lunch)

Trader Joe’s Sweet Plantain Chips (make sure the bag says “no added sugar”!)

Trader Joe’s Riced Cauliflower (was going to use in my chicken tacos, but I totally forgot!)

Trader Joe’s Frozen Chili Lime Chicken Burgers (great freezer staple)

Trader Joe’s Grass Fed Angus Beef Burgers (another good staple)

The pico and salsa were in the refrigerated section by the produce, with the pre-made salads and lunch items. I had to read the labels because not every jar was ok, but there were plenty of options.

Hope this menu plan inspires you to think outside of the box!
